Mandy Thompson is a multi-media artist, social advocate/ally, and journaling coach, who brought a wealth of diverse and practical tools to the conversation, mostly in the realm of journalling practice, which is what I asked her to speak on. Her lived experience and enthusiastic clarity around the simple practice of writing our thoughts on the blank page—even if it’s just a scribbled mess sometimes— is inspiring (and contagious, I might add.)
Mandy chose the card of Constriction and Expansion and spoke about finding life and limitation in the tension between the two and how her creative practice helps her regulate the nervous system and brings peace to her experience as an artist, sensitive human, and mother alive in this most challenging of times.
The transformative artwork she chose to share is the book Spilling Open by Sabrina Ward Harrison. (The link has lots of pictures!)
Here is Mandy’s website, where you can get all sorts of free tools as well as sign up for her newsletter and writing support. Below are some of her personal entries (and there are a lot more where these came from….check them out!)

Thank you for reading, listening, supporting. If you would, please like, subscribe, and share with a friend. All these help me expand this work and get it to the ears of those who benefit from it. Expansion > contraction!
I appreciate you!
Allison
