I love this so much. Mothering to me means just being there with vulnerable creatures and doing one's best to nurture them every day round the clock through glorious thick and gut-wrenchingly nightmarish thin.
Happy Mother's Day to mothers whose children sprung from their loins and also to all the women and men who have nurtured sweet young lives that may or may not be related by genetics simply by being there and caring and staying connected.
Hi Saill. Im so glad that came across. As I was learning about Tara in Hawaii and wondering why I'd chosen her or vice versa, it was the idea of holding mother space not just for children, but for all sentient beings that piqued my interest an heart. Id discovered this wonderful old book called the Return of the Mother by Andrew Harvey in a tiny glass doored "music-room" on the top of a cliff looking out at the sea. As I read it, taking a break from my painting, waiting for more information on what to do next, I understood that the return of the mother was going to happen through all of us who are available, it has nothing to do with the kind of mothering our culture expects from women...but that we serve a greater energy that could heal and restore the planet.
